It is just about miday here and the village is bustling.People getting their last minute shopping done at Bäckerei Wirth the local Baker, clearing the last remnants of snow and getting ready for a relaxing weekend, thats how it is here in Wengen.
You can visit us any time there are Ferienwohnung (holiday flats ) at very good rates here, and we are central to all the nice places to visit when you come to Bavaria.
There is also Rednex RanchWhere you may be able to get in a bit of horse riding when you visit.
Overnight accomodation is available at Ferienhof Socher in a comfortable flat within a 300 year old farmhouse at very reasonable rates. I will be mentioning other places to stay in future posts.

Wengen in Allgau
Wengen,
I have added a few things since the last post, a couple of photographs,a few links etc.
It is now spring here and the weather is changable, at the moment it is overcast and cold but as you see from the photos we do tend get a lot of snow here .
The village has a population of around 500 and mostly agricultural and forestry work is carried out in the vicinity.
We are close to Kempten one of the oldest cities in Germany. It was a roman settlement and remains of the roman city can be viewed there.
The town of Obertsdorf famous for its world championship ski jumps lay about 50 km. away on the Austrian border, and the picturebook Bavarian castle of Neuschwanstein and its beautiful mountains are also only 50 km. away.
There are so many beautiful wander ways here and weekends many people come here and walk to the nearby Alm Wenger Egg, or on the Karl Hirnbein Weg. Many cyclists travel to and through Wengen.
There are good rail and bus links from Kempten to Munich,Stuttgart and major cities.
From Friedrichshafen ( Bodensee ) there are regular flights to and from London Stansted with Ryan Air for prices as low as €0,01 plus tax so we are easy to reach here in Allgau.
the Bodensee region ,Switzerland and Austria are all within easy reach. So there is no better place to come to experience Bavaria at its best. Here to Wengen

Wengen in Allgau
Wengen,
a small village nestled in a beautiful valley, one of many beautiful vallies in the region where the brook runs through it ,the birds are always singing the village shop sells the best bread for miles around. and the beer is not bad as well. Here everybody knows everybody else, the people are friendly and there is generally a wonderful community spirit here.
There is a local brass band , it plays at all the major occasions that transpire here. The village hall the focal point of the villiage, events here are always well attended. I am an outsider here although I have lived in the village for a number of years, I have many good friends here and shall in future posts be giving readers an insight of what is on offer here in Wengen.
It is in fact my home from home.Wengen
